Backstabbing friends are a part of life. You thought someone is a best friend or even just a good friend, but may backstab you when you least expect it. Some of is the reasons for backstabbing are:  vindictive, revengeful, deceitful, conniving, resentful, and angry people. Sometimes, people who backstab you just want to clear their path for a new chance, like at work for instance.

People want power and backstabbing others is a great way to gain it. In ancient Rome, Caesar had a growing power, which made others fear him, so the Senate wanted him dead. The Senate recruited Caesar’s friend Brutus to join the assignation. Julius Caesar was literally stabbed 23 times by members of the Senate and his good friend Marcus Junius Brutus. This tells me that even the closet friend may turn on me.
